The 7Q Foundation was established to support families navigating the challenges of special needs, inspired by the experiences of Zidan Ali, a spirited young boy with a genetic deletion on chromosome 7Q. The 7Q Foundation is dedicated to addressing the gaps and needs of families navigating special needs by creating programs such as day and weekend services with inclusion support, webinars, conferences, community events, and diverrx.com, a resource hub for the community. Through these initiatives, the foundation fosters support, education, and connection, promoting inclusion and equal opportunities for all.
Eliana's Light is dedicated to supporting the whole health, well-being, and quality of life of families in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia who have children with medical complexities. The organization provides critical emotional, financial, and educational support to family members while connecting caregivers to additional resources. Eliana's Light also advocates for whole health approaches to care in pediatrics, regularly organizing volunteer programs that foster community, connection, and raise awareness about these families and their healthcare needs. By addressing gaps in the nation's support systems, Eliana’s Light collaborates through its unique "C.A.R.E" model with medical centers, healthcare providers, housing assistance programs, and other specialists to co-create "Constellations of Care" alongside families.
In Northern Virginia (NOVA), families managing Developmental Disabilities (DD) often face the challenge of navigating a complex network of services and resources. Through its virtual platform, NOVA IDD organizes virtual resource fairs, providing families with the tools they need to navigate challenges, access valuable resources, and connect with experts and service providers. These events foster meaningful connections within the community, helping families enhance the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities in the region. By offering this virtual space, NOVA IDD is bridging gaps and empowering families to thrive.
